Reading is essential, and you will need to read 100 minutes each week. A bookmark needs to taken home so a parent/guardian can sign it after you read. The bookmark will be turned in on Monday of each week. Each of you is required to read at least four books per quarter, which is a C; five books for a B; and six books for an A. Each book needs to be at the appropriate reading level. Sometimes a book may be worth two books. It depends on variety of things such as reading level, vocabulary, how pages, etc. YOU MUST CHECK WITH ME FIRST TO SEE IF THE BOOK IS WORTH TWO. When done reading a book, you will need to complete a book form and give a book talk. (forms are on "assignment" page)

Instead of sending this information home with you, let's help the environment by showing this to your parents/guardians and then have them fill out the contact form below. Thanks
Parents/Guardians,
Would you please look through my pages on the website? Pay particular attention to "Parent/Guardian Info". Below is a contact form that I want you to complete, so that I know you have looked at and understood my website pages. If you have any questions, please ask those in the content section below. Also, I usually send home a request for you to provide me information about your child that will help me to get to know him/her better; instead please include that in the content part as well. Since the students are allowed to bring PEDs to school, please let me know that they have your permission (necessary only for IPADs or laptops). If you want to send information as a separate email or write it and let your student give it to me, you may do that. When you submit the form, it appears in a secure place for my eyes only.
Thanks,
Mrs. McGuire
